While reduced carbohydrate intake may lead to weight loss, we must not forget that carbs are necessary for normal functioning of the body.  The key is to eliminate “bad” carbs from the diet.  To help with this, simply consume your carbs from fruits and vegetables and eliminate processed foods.

Quick & Easy Fruit Smoothie

Here is a quick and easy smoothie recipe that I enjoy quite frequently.

1/2 medium size banana

5 strawberries

1 cup skim milk

5 ice cubes

Put everything into a blender and mix for a delicious shake!

Fiber – 4 g

Protein – 9 g

Fat – 0 g
