Week 22: Another Pound Lighter

Another bites the dust! One more pound is gone. I’d like to see two or three at a time, but any is better than none at all.

This week I went to the park with my friend and we did jogging sprints between the workout stations on the trail. I surprised myself at how I could actually do it at all considering when I first started out I walked that trail and was so so tired after just a short distance. Also, it was raining a little when we went which cooled us down a bit.

I went swimming over the weekend. I went by myself which was a bit of a challenge for me because I would normally go with someone else and feel more secure about my appearance if I had someone to cling to. But this time was different. I went there all alone. I didn’t hide behind my towel and I didn’t care if anyone looked at me and thought I was fat.  I know that I am losing weight and what other people think about my appearance is slowly having no relevance to me at all.

Week 21: Climbing My Way to More Weight Loss!

This week went by fast! I’ve started taking the stairs at work on a more regular basis and I’m almost to the point where I can do the whole four flights of stairs and not be out of breath. It’s such a big difference from just a few months ago.

One day I was wearing a pair of pants I hadn’t worn in two weeks and they were literally falling off me. It’s a great problem to have!  Also this week I tried on a pair of jeans that I haven’t worn in THREE years. And guess what? They fit AND there was extra room. I only lost one pound this week, but I’ll take it.

I did some running sprints when I was walking. Everytime I do them I try to set a marked goal and then once I get there I say, “ok self, just a little more.”  I’m learning to push myself and it’s a great feeling when you acomplish your goals.

Week 20: Starting to Feel Like Summer

My trainers were on vacation last week and even though I did some exercising on my own, working out on your own just isn’t the same as working with a trainer.  I definitely felt the difference a week makes that’s for sure. But Im glad to have them back!

It’s been getting really hot and humid outside lately. That presents a little bit of a challenge for me and getting in all of my walking. Somedays by the  time it’s cooled down enough to go for a walk it’s too late because I come back all energized and can’t sleep. So, I think what Im going to start doing is going to bed early and walking in the mornings and keep pushing myself to try to take the stairs at work as much as possible.   I hate getting up early but I like morning walks because they make me feel like Im starting the day off on the right track.

Oh I almost forgot. I ran a little (very little) with my trainer on Wednesday, but it was longer than I think I ever ran before. Saturday morning around 10am I went for a walk and did some running sprints at the beginning of my walk but I got worn out quickly. I think it may have been the heat because it was so so hot, but I finished the walk just didn’t run too many sprints like I wanted to.

Week 19: Tough Week

This week was a bit of a challenge for me.  My trainers were on vacation. I did work out on my own with a friend some and tried to get in as much walking as I could, but it rained a lot this week. I also had a bad week with my diet, but I realize that is going to happen from time to time and I cant dwell on it. I just need to stay focused and keep positive.
